Agniveer Scheme Reservation [2:05]
The Agniveer scheme, initiated in June 2022, allows volunteers to serve in the Army, Airforce, or Navy for a four-year term, after which 25% are selected to continue. The Ministry of Home Affairs oversees this scheme, which does not include pension benefits but offers an insurance cover of 48 lakhs. The scheme now includes a reservation for ex-Agniveers for Group C jobs, increasing from 10% to 50% within the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), starting with the Border Security Force (BSF). This reservation does not initially extend to all CAPF divisions like Assam Rifles, SSB, CISF, and Indo-Tibetan Border Police Forces, but may include them later. State governments like Haryana and UP offer 10-20% reservations for Agniveers.
ISRO's AST Space Mobile Satellite Launch [5:45]
ISRO is set to launch the AST Space Mobile satellite on December 24, 2025, using the LVM3 rocket, also known as Bahubali. ISRO, India's space agency established on August 15, 1969, in Bengaluru, is increasingly sought after by other countries for satellite launches due to its reliable LVM3 rocket. The AST Space Mobile satellite, launched by the company AST, aims to be the first to create a space-based group providing mobile network directly to smartphones, supporting 4G and 5G services. Named Blue Walker 3, this satellite follows previous launches in September 2024 and will use the LVM3 rocket, which has also been used for Chandrayaan missions and the OneWeb satellite launches.
Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's Anniversary [10:10]
Haryana has recently approved the organization of programs to commemorate the 350th death anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The Haryana assembly passed a resolution to celebrate and remember Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, whose name is closely associated with Sikhism. In Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev Ji is the first Guru, and Guru Gobind Singh Ji is the tenth. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is the ninth Guru, born in April 1621 in Amritsar and died in November 1675 in Delhi during the Mughal dynasty's rule. He is remembered for sacrificing his life to protect religious freedom and justice. After the tenth Guru, the Guru Granth Sahib is revered, containing all the teachings.
Turner Prize Awarded to Nina Kalu [14:05]
Nina Kalu, an artist from Scotland with learning disabilities, has been awarded the Turner Prize, marking the first time an artist with such challenges has received this honor. The Turner Prize, awarded to artists in the UK since 1984 and named after J.W. Turner, recognizes achievements in the field of art. Nina Kalu received a prize money of 25,000 pounds, and the award ceremony will be held in London. She is known for creating cocoon-shaped sculptures, which have been displayed in Barcelona. Previously, Indian artists Jaisleen Kaur (2024) and Anish Kapoor (1991) have also been honored with this award.

President has approved the "विकसित भारत गारंटी फॉर रोजगार एंड आजीविका मिशन ग्रामीण बिल 2025". This bill amends the NREGA scheme, initially established in 2005 and later renamed to include Mahatma Gandhi in 2009, which guaranteed 100 days of work. The new bill, named "विकसित भारत जी राम जी," removes Mahatma Gandhi's name, increases the guaranteed workdays to 125, and ensures that wages meet daily needs. Work will not be provided during crop seasons. The bill was passed in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha before receiving presidential approval under Article 111. The scheme aims to align with Sustainable Development Goal number one, which focuses on eradicating poverty, and goal number eight, which promotes decent work.
Dark Eagle Hypersonic Weapon Development [21:51]
The USA has developed and tested the Dark Eagle hypersonic weapon, with speeds exceeding 5 Mach. This weapon has been assigned to the US Navy as part of its defense system, complementing the Golden Dome air defense system. The Dark Eagle has a range of 2735 km and uses solid fuel, operating in two stages. India's defense systems include Akash Teer, S 400, and Indrajaal.

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) recently celebrated its Raising Day. Established in 1963 after the 1962 India-China war, the SSB operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs within the CAPF.
