Don Juan and Namongan live in La Union and are expecting their baby when the Igorot tribe attacks, killing many of Don Juan's men. In a fit of rage, Don Juan confronts the Igorots and is ultimately killed, with rumors circulating about his severed head. After Namongan gives birth to Lamang, he speaks immediately and chooses his name and godfather, and vows to avenge his father's death.
Lamang's Quest [1:00]
At just a month old, Lamang is already strong and determined. Despite his mother’s objections, he sets off to find his father’s remains, accompanied by a magical rooster, a dog, and a talisman made from a banana tree. He traverses mountains and dreams of the Igorot tribe dancing around his father's head. Upon reaching the Igorot's territory, he discovers his father’s head on a bamboo post and challenges the Igorots for revenge.
Lamang's Battle [2:00]
Lamang confronts the Igorots, who try to scare him off, but he shouts defiantly, attracting attention. Despite their efforts to attack him with spears, Lamang remains unharmed and retaliates with his machete, defeating them effortlessly. He triumphantly returns home to Narbuan, where he bathes in the river, causing fish in the river to die due to his presence.
The Courtship of Ines [3:00]
After resting, Lamang prepares to court Ines Kanuyan. He brings along his magical companions and faces the warrior Sumarang, defeating him. Arriving at Ines' home, his companions announce his intention to marry her. Ines’ parents agree to the marriage if Lamang can offer a bride price. He sends two ships full of gold, pleasing Ines' parents.
Lamang and Ines' Wedding [4:00]
Lamang and Ines have a grand wedding ceremony. Following tradition, he must catch rarang fish, foreseeing that he might be eaten by a shark. He prepares for this possibility before diving into the sea. Ines follows his last instructions, gathers his bones after his demise, and with the aid of their magical friends, they manage to resurrect Lamang.
A Happy Ever After [5:00]
Lamang awakens as if from a deep sleep, reuniting happily with Ines. They embrace, honored by their magical companions, and live joyfully together for many years.
