The Basics [0:06]
Each class in Battlefield 6 features a signature set consisting of a signature weapon category, a signature gadget, and a signature trait. These are fixed and define the core identity of each class. For example, the Engineer always has the repair tool as their signature gadget and receives a proficiency bonus with SMGs. While the game encourages using the signature weapon type, players can choose any weapon with any class, a change from older Battlefield games. Each class also has a training path, offering three additional passive perks and a class-active ability, with two training paths available at launch. Players can also customize their loadout with a main weapon, side weapon, two gadgets, a throwable, and a melee weapon.
Assault [2:00]
The Assault class is designed as a beginner-friendly, versatile option focused on capturing objectives. Its signature weapon is the assault rifle, and one of its gadget slots can accommodate carbines, DMRs, and shotguns. The signature trait, Mission Focus, speeds up objective capture for nearby squad members and reduces the time to take you and your team out of combat status faster. The signature gadget is the adrenaline injector, which clears and boosts resistance to flash and stun effects, enhances tolerance to explosive and incinerary damage, and improves movement speed. The Breacher training path provides extra grenades and faster reload on incendiary rounds and grenade launchers, while the Front Liner path improves health regeneration and reduces fall impact. Both paths include the Rally Squad active ability, which grants the effects of the adrenaline injector to the player and nearby squad members. Additional gadgets include the assault ladder, various launchers, a single-use deploy beacon, and the incendiary round shotgun. The NVO2E assault rifle and M4A1 carbine are recommended weapons.
Engineer [4:26]
The Engineer class specializes in vehicles, both supporting friendly vehicles and dismantling enemy ones. The signature gadget is the repair tool, which fixes vehicles and equipment and damages enemy assets. The signature trait, Mechanized Infantry, reduces damage from explosives when near a friendly vehicle and prevents enemies from stealing the vehicle. The Anti-Armor training path focuses on taking out enemy vehicles by reducing repair effectiveness and increasing the number of rockets available, while the Combat Engineer path allows for vehicle regeneration while inside, reduces heat buildup, and increases gadget health. Gadgets include various anti-vehicle tools like rockets and mines, as well as a vehicle supply crate. The SGX submachine gun is recommended for closed weapons playlists, while the NVO22 AE assault rifle is suggested for open weapons playlists. When attacking armored vehicles, targeting the back and sides is more effective.
Support [6:37]
The Support class functions as a medic and protector, reviving downed teammates and providing healing. The signature gadget is the supply bag, which provides allies with ammo and boosts health regeneration. The signature trait, Squad Supplies, allows squadmates to directly interact with the Support player for health and ammo. The class active ability, Restock Allies, will result and heal nearby friendly forces for 10 seconds and reduce revive time. The Combat Medic training path speeds up reviving and dragging downed soldiers, triggering passive health regeneration and damage tainting upon revival, while the Fire Support path focuses on ammo resupply and explosive damage reduction while prone or mounted. Gadgets include the defibrillator, intercept systems, a smoke grenade launcher, an air burst launcher, a portable mortar, deployable cover, and a supply pouch. The L110 light machine gun is recommended, along with the SGX submachine gun or M4A1 carbine for heroic revives. Smoke grenades are essential for saving incapacitated teammates.
Recon [9:36]
The Recon class is designed for players with good aim who prefer to stay in the back, focusing on sniping and spotting enemies. The signature trait, Aim Spot, marks enemies spotted with the scope, making them visible on the minimap for everyone. The motion sensor gadget and the UAV Overwatch active ability further enhance enemy tracking. The Sniper training path enhances the auto-spotting trait, and enemies killed with a headshot cannot be revived, while the Spec Ops path focuses on stealth, reducing noise while crouched, clearing combat state when going prone, and spotting nearby enemy gadgets. Gadgets include the laser designator, tracer dart, recon drone, and sniper decoy. The M2010 ESR sniper rifle is the best choice, with attachments to boost damage range and performance. The ADS bolt and anti-glare coating are recommended attachments. For long-range fights without sniping, the M39 EMR and SVK 8.6 are solid DMR options.
