After a tense encounter, Dan proceeds to a training facility, befriending Charlie, a scientist, and Dorian, a seasoned fighter. They receive basic combat and first aid training, and learn about the Timelink technology that enables travel between 2022 and 2051. Abruptly, their training is cut short, and they're sent to the future. A malfunction during the time jump sends them plummeting into a ruined Miami, resulting in numerous casualties.

The team is contacted by a colonel and tasked with rescuing a research team trapped in a laboratory overrun by whitespikes. Dan, due to his military experience, leads the team through the devastated city. They discover a dead alien and, inside the lab, find the research team dead, a part of an alien trap. Tasked with retrieving the research, they encounter whitespikes. The aliens' thick skin makes them difficult to kill, but the team discovers their weak spots are the neck and belly. They fight their way through the city streets, facing heavy casualties, until they are rescued by jets.
Reunion with Muri [4:53]
Dan and Charlie wake up in a forward operating base in the Dominican Republic, where they learn that the rest of their team is dead. Dan is summoned to meet the colonel, who is revealed to be his adult daughter, Muri. Muri explains that she needs his help to capture a female whitespike for research, as it is immune to the toxin used against the males. She shows him a recording of the female whitespike, which is more aggressive and nests underground.
Capturing the Female Whitespike [6:02]
Muri explains the aliens' origins and behavior, noting their arrival in Russia in 2048 and their rapid takeover of the world. The team arrives at the nest and attempts to capture the female whitespike, facing heavy resistance from the male aliens. Muri manages to wound the female, allowing the team to secure her in a cage. Determined to prevent the invasion, Dan, with Emmy's help, deduces that the aliens arrived on Earth long before 2048, hidden in a frozen region of Russia. He enlists Dorian and Charlie to investigate a claw sample, which reveals volcanic ash from Asia. Martin explains that a volcanic eruption could have deposited the ash in Russian waters, which later froze, encasing the aliens.

Lacking government support, Dan seeks help from his estranged father, James, and Hart. The team travels to Russia and discovers a hidden, ancient cavern containing a frozen spaceship. They realize the whitespikes are bioengineered weapons and begin injecting them with the toxin.

The aliens awaken and attack, forcing the team to blow up the ship. Dorian sacrifices himself to detonate the bomb. James spots a female alien escaping. Dan and James confront the queen, using traps and their combined efforts to inject her with the toxin, finally killing her.
