At 17, Ursula was a beautiful woman, attracting the interest of many young men. King Canon, a powerful pagan king, proposed to her. King Donotus was hesitant, fearing the destruction of his kingdom if he refused. Ursula suggested to her parents, the King and Queen, that they pray and fast for guidance on how to respond to King Canon's proposal.

King Canon arrived to propose to Ursula. The King and Queen accepted his proposal but set three conditions: King Canon must become Catholic, Ursula and her ladies would take a three-year pilgrimage, and Ursula could bring her ladies with her when marrying him. King Canon accepted these conditions.

After disembarking, the Huns captured Ursula and her ladies. The Huns tried to force Ursula to be with them, but she refused, stating she had dedicated herself to God. Prince Attila then killed Ursula and her ladies for their unwavering faith.
