Camping Trip Gone Wrong [0:16]
The narrator recounts a childhood camping trip with his dad and a friend named Charles. The trip was already off to a bad start due to a mix-up in campsite bookings, landing them in an overdeveloped campsite next to an amusement park. One night, the narrator and Charles sneak into the amusement park and, while hiding from security, spot a suspicious man with blood on his face. The next morning, they learn about a local stabbing and suspect the man they saw was involved, but they decide not to report it, a decision they later regret.
Subway Clown Encounter [11:00]
In October 2016, during the height of the creepy clown hysteria, the narrator, then a 16-year-old high school student, had a terrifying experience on the subway. As he was exiting the train, a clown in full costume blocked his path. The clown then chased him with a kitchen knife. The narrator escaped and reported the incident to the police, but the clown was gone when they arrived. The narrator was shaken by the incident and feared the clown might track him down.
Shady Lifeguard Job [15:03]
The narrator describes a job he took as a night lifeguard at a hotel pool. The job listing had unusual requirements, including a preference for someone who didn't speak Spanish. Despite being fluent in Spanish, the narrator took the job, which paid $30 an hour. He soon realized the hotel was a front for illegal activities, such as money laundering and drug trafficking. The narrator became increasingly uncomfortable with the situation, especially after overhearing a disturbing toast made by some of the hotel patrons. After Estabbon confronted him about speaking Spanish, the narrator quit the job and feared for his safety for months afterward.
