Mulan lived in ancient China with her parents and her dog, Little Brother. Her father was a great warrior, but he got injured in a war and couldn't fight anymore. A messenger arrives with news that the Huns have attacked, and one man from each family must join the Emperor's army. This news is devastating for Mulan's family because it means her father would have to return to war despite his injury.

Mulan decides to take her father's place in the army. She cuts her hair, puts on his warrior uniform, and looks just like a man. Mulan is taken to the doctor's tent, where her true identity as a woman is revealed. The doctor informs Captain Li Shang. Shang confronts Mulan, acknowledging that she saved the army but also that she cheated him. As punishment, she is dismissed from the army and told not to follow them.

Mulan is heartbroken but overhears the Huns, realising they are still alive. She races to the Imperial City to warn Shang about the impending attack. However, Shang doesn't trust her because she deceived him before and refuses to listen. Mulan tries to warn others, but no one believes her.
Rescuing the Emperor [7:32]
The Hun leader Shan-Yu attacks the city and kidnaps the Emperor. Li Shang and Mulan work together to free the Emperor. Mulan lures Shan-Yu to the rooftop, tricks him, and pins him to the roof. During the battle, there is a huge explosion that destroys the roof and Shan-Yu.
Honoring Mulan [8:50]
Mulan survives the explosion, and the Imperial Army wins, banishing the Huns forever. The Emperor is grateful for Mulan's bravery and gifts her a sword as a token of appreciation. Mulan returns home and presents the sword to her father, bringing honor to her family.
Reunion and Conclusion [9:36]
Captain Li Shang arrives at Mulan's home to return her helmet. Mulan invites him to stay for dinner, and he accepts. Tia concludes the story, emphasizing to Tofu that girls can do anything they set their minds to. Tofu admits he was wrong to think girls can't fight, and Tia warns him to be careful before picking a fight with a girl next time.
