TLDR;
This video explores the concept of dominion, focusing on the intrinsic requirements for man to exercise it, how man lost these capacities, and how Christ restores them. It highlights the importance of internal essence over external achievements for true dominion and the journey of encountering Jesus as the Saviour, Son, and Lord to regain this dominion.
- Dominion requires building internal capacity and essence, not just external achievements.
- Man lost the organic requirements for dominion, which Christ came to restore.
- Encountering Jesus as Saviour, Son, and Lord is essential for regaining dominion.
Introduction: Capacity Building for Dominion [0:06]
The focus is on the capacity building required for dominion, particularly the organic aspect. Without a built capacity, one cannot administer dominion effectively. Genesis reveals five intrinsic requirements God gave man for dominion, which the devil later took away. Dominion is a natural result of possessing these qualities. God deliberately placed these requirements in man, recognising their necessity for dominion. These requirements were lost, but Christ restores them, making dominion natural again.
Five Organic Realities for Dominion [1:25]
In Genesis 1:26, God states, "Let us make man in our own image." The first intrinsic reality for dominion is bearing God's image. Secondly, man must possess God's righteous character, or likeness. Thirdly, Genesis 3:8 describes God's voice walking in the garden, signifying intimacy and fellowship, not just communication. God brought His presence into man, fostering intercourse and intimacy. Fourthly, Genesis 2:9 mentions God planting the tree of life in the garden, providing His life to man. Man has three kinds of life: in the blood (natural life sustained by food), in the soul (cognitive life), and in the spirit (Zoe, God's life). God intended man to take this life for dominion. The fifth organic thing is the law of the Lord in the soul of man.
The Devil's Attack and Man's Loss [6:42]
Lacking these five things hinders the exercise of dominion, a fact the devil exploited. Instead of targeting man's activities, the devil attacked man's intrinsic reality. In the garden, the serpent questioned God's commands, focusing on the inner man rather than external actions. The devil's proposition was about essence and capacity, aiming to defile man's nature. Foolishly, man ate from the forbidden tree, resulting in death and the loss of God's nature. Consequently, God drove them out of the garden.
The Fallen State and its Calamities [9:21]
Romans 3:23 states that all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory, indicating the removal of God's nature. Jesus in John 8:44 says that they are "of your father, the devil," signifying the adoption of the devil's nature and character. Man lost nature, character, and God's presence, and was denied access to the tree of life. This deranked man, making him a servant of the devil, who became the god of this world. Dominion is largely about essence and capacity, and losing these makes exercising dominion impossible. The devil fights to defy the believer's internal essence, knowing that a defied internal essence prevents the expression of God's government.
Restoration to Dominion Through Christ [13:35]
The fallen man cannot help himself, and Jesus reveals the real estimation of man outside God. John 6:63 states that the spirit quickens, but the flesh profits nothing. The first calamity of the fallen man is his uselessness in divine agenda. The second calamity is that another, the devil, took the position of ruler. 2 Corinthians 4:3 states that the devil is the god of this world. The earth is in bondage and suffering under corruption. The emergence of sons is to stop the dominion of Satan. Jesus's ministry demonstrated stopping Satan's dominion by healing and restoring people.
Pathways to Sonship Through Jesus [18:40]
To become sons, one must first be a child of God. God sent prophets, but the only cure was His own son, Jesus, to make men sons of God. Jesus followed three pathways: Saviour, Son, and Lord. Encountering Jesus in these dimensions restores nature, likeness, presence, and life, reinstating the law God spoke in Genesis.
Jesus the Saviour: Deliverance and Eternal Life [20:52]
Outside of Jesus, dominion is impossible. Encountering Jesus as Saviour delivers one from bondage. Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 1:21-23 introduce Jesus as Emmanuel, who saves people from their sins. Encountering Jesus the Saviour delivers from sin, the power of Satan, the world, the flesh, and death. These victories are programmed into eternal life. Receiving eternal life through Jesus gives the potential to overcome these forces.
From Children to Sons: Experiencing Dominion [29:08]
Receiving eternal life makes one a child of God, but becoming a son is different. Many Christians remain at the level of children, requiring constant intervention from God. Government belongs to sons, not children. A generation must grow from children to sons, as government does not belong to children. Children are a consumer generation, always asking for things, while sons exercise governance.
The Revelation of Jesus the Son: Imaging the Father [33:19]
The first revelation of sonship is the ability to image the Father. Hebrews 1:1-3 describes the Son as the brightness of God's glory and the express image of His person. Imaging God is essential for exercising dominion. Jesus revealed the Father during his time on Earth. The technology for imaging God involves prayer and meditation. Jeremiah 33:3 states that asking God leads to seeing, and what you see is what you become.
The Revelation of Jesus the Son: Led by the Spirit and Enduring Chastening [39:00]
The second law of sonship is being led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14). Creativity is a disadvantage in matters of ordination; hearing God is essential. Sons live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. The third thing that makes for a son is to endure the chastening of the Lord (Hebrews 12:6-10). Sons have scars and can tell of their sufferings for Jesus.
The Revelation of Jesus the Son: Being Given and the Lordship of Christ [1:04:46]
Finally, a son is one who is given (Isaiah 9:6). When you are not given, you cannot have government. God can trust you and you submit your will to Him. This leads to the revelation of Jesus the Lord, where you no longer have the right to make a choice. Capacity building for the kingdom involves prayer, discerning God's voice, enduring chastening, and submitting your will.
