[Search with Google Lens in Chrome]
Google Lens in Chrome allows users to search for anything they find online, such as identifying products in images or recognizing animals in photos. To start a search with Google Lens on an iPhone, open Chrome and navigate to a website. Then, tap the Google Lens icon in the address bar or select "Search Screen with Google Lens" from the "More" menu.
[Search Your Screen]
To search an image or video, draw, highlight, or tap an area on the image or video. Adjust the selection by dragging the corners and zoom or pan the image as needed. To search text, highlight the desired text and adjust the selection by dragging the corners. For translations, tap Google Translate. After making a selection, you can add text to the search bar for follow-up questions. Close the results page by swiping down and close Google Lens by tapping the close icon.
[Search with Your Camera or Photo from Your Gallery]
To search using your camera or an existing photo, open Chrome on your iPhone and open a new tab. In the search bar, tap the Google Lens shutter icon. To upload an image from your device, tap the Photo picker at the bottom left.
[Search with a QR Code or Barcode]
To search using a QR code or barcode, open Chrome on your iPhone and open a new tab. Tap the Google Lens icon in the search bar and position the QR code or barcode within the highlighted box. Once recognized, a code will appear in the address bar. Tap the link that pops up on your screen to access the information.
[How Your Page Data Is Processed by Google Lens]
When using Google Lens for the first time, you must agree to the processing of page data. To help select objects on the page, a screenshot of the page and page data will be sent to Google. Google does not save any data beyond temporary storage for processing the specific query, and the page or image is not used for training purposes. When you select part of the page, the selection is sent to Google Search. You can manage or delete your Search activity in My Google Activity.
