Colonel Dr. Anup Krishnan welcomes viewers to the NPTEL course on physical medicine and rehabilitation in sports. It is offered by the Centre of Excellence in Sports Sciences and Analytics (CESA) from IIT Madras.

The course spans eight weeks, with an assignment at the end of each week. Participants can apply for an offline exam after completing the course to receive a certificate, which will be conducted at various centres throughout India. Week one covers an overview of physical medicine and rehabilitation, common sports injuries, and the role of PMR in these injuries. Week two focuses on the basic anatomy of the musculoskeletal system and the mechanics of sports injuries. Week three discusses the body's response to sports injuries and available diagnostic tools and techniques.
